What do Long-Term Care Communities in Colorado Springs Have To Offer?

At long-term care communities like Sunny Vista, services are tailored to people who need extra support managing the tasks of their daily lives.

Highly-skilled professionals provide care that’s customized to each resident’s unique needs while promoting independence and boosting their quality of life at our Colorado Springs’ community. Sunny Vista’s dedicated staff offers every member of the community any assistance they need, including specialized memory care support, rehabilitative therapy, and help with activities of daily living like getting dressed, bathing, and preparing for an active day.

The campus is home to The Retreat at Sunny Vista, an assisted living community where the focus is on forging connections with each resident by listening to and respecting their wishes on how they want to live this latest chapter in their life.

At The Living Center, we offer specialized long-term rehabilitation care for seniors in need of physical, occupational, speech and language therapy. Rehabilitation services are focused on supporting residents who have ongoing health conditions and empowering them along the road to recovery following surgery or an accident.

Residents receive long-term care while living in their own private and secure apartments and suites in a community offering world-class dining, stunning views of Pikes Peak, quick access to downtown Colorado Springs, and a busy calendar of activities.

Sunny Vista has a 24-hour emergency call system, and our apartments and suites feature non-slip tile and other safety features to prevent bathroom falls. Housekeeping, laundry, linen, and concierge services are available, so residents can focus on living their lives without having to worry about chores.

Community Life – Specialized Life Enrichment Opportunities

Sunny Vista residents take advantage of our Rhythms Life Enrichment Services which are built on a foundation of understanding and celebrating the unique personalities and interests of each resident. Through this approach, we guide each resident along the path to healthy aging.

We also offer transportation to local events, opportunities to volunteer and get more involved in our community, and a wide range of programs and amenities right here on our campus.

There are food demonstrations with our culinary director, champagne toasts welcoming the New Year as well as musical performances and green beer in honor or St. Patrick’s Day. Residents here stroll along the walking paths on our scenic grounds and tend to planters and raised garden beds on our south patio where they’ve grown tomatoes for our cooking classes.

Wellness Programs

Sunny Vista nourishes every aspect of our resident’s health, including their physical, social, intellectual, and spiritual well-being. Wellness is at the heart of our programming. Team members focus on nurturing the whole person – socially, intellectually, spiritually and physically. Residents are encouraged to participate in events as much or as little as they like. Whether joining in on a song or working together to prepare a meal, the spirit of wellness and family is present in all areas of the community.

Neighbors gather in our spacious Fitness Center with the shared purpose of pursuing a healthy lifestyle. Our Movement 4 Life program focuses on supporting the mind and body through exercises designed to boost activity and reduce the risks of falls.

Social Programs

Residents at Sunny Vista can socialize as much as they want. We encourage everyone to take part in all our activities, but they can go at their own pace without having to participate if they don’t feel like it. Life enrichment programming brings them together for happy hours, outings, games, musical performances, aromatherapy, chair yoga, and shared pursuits like growing herbs in our Horticulture Club.

There are plenty of ways to get involved and meet neighbors here, including the Busy Hands volunteer group that makes dining room table centerpieces, cook snacks for residents, and organizes the country store cart. Residents take the lead in conducting classes, organizing holiday events, and making crafts for neighbors.

Sunny Vista’s Welcoming Committee extends greetings to every new resident who joins our community by providing activity calendars, a welcome sign for the door of their new home, and even a plant for their room.
